The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled People (IDDP), aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and the rights of people with physical impairments.

As part of our celebration there will be an opportunity to experience some Paralympic sports. If you would also like to book a disabled persons gym induction please contact Emma 020 8227 3980 and pay a reduced rate for this day only. All of the above are subject to availability.

Criteria for nomination.
Nominations may include any association which helps to promote equality for disabled people, or a local disabled person or disability organisation which has achieved great success.

Paralympic Journey Planner School poster.

Select a Paralympic sport and design a poster using pictures / artwork to plan your journey from Barking and Dagenham to your Paralympic venue. We have supplied every primary and secondary school in the borough with the 2012 Paralympic brochure detailing the Paralympic sports and venues. Please help raise awareness of this competition in your school, which we hope will encourage young people to find out more information about the paralympics and the transport routes available.
